Dermal fillers are smooth gels, most made from hyaluronic acid, that restore lost volume and soften lines that show even when your face is at rest. At Bogat, a board-certified nurse practitioner places them in small, deliberate amounts, following a plan built around your face rather than a set number of syringes.

Why Clients Choose Bogat for Dermal Fillers
Less Product, Better Placement
Good filler work depends on where the gel goes, not how much. Your injector maps your face first, then places small amounts at the right depth for each area. A cheek looks lifted rather than full; a lip keeps its shape when you smile.
An Experienced Injector, With Medical Oversight
Your injector is a board-certified nurse practitioner who spent 10 years in a surgical intensive care unit before aesthetics. Anatomy, sterile technique, and steady hands are habits from that work. A physician medical director supervises every injectable protocol at Bogat.
A Two-Week Review Is Part of the Plan
Filler looks different on day 14 than on day one, once swelling has settled. Every first treatment includes a two-week review to judge the result together and decide whether to adjust or add.

How Dermal Fillers Work
Hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule your skin already makes. It holds water, which is why young skin looks plump. A filler is hyaluronic acid bonded into a gel that keeps its shape for months.
Placed under a line or over a bone that has lost its cushion, the gel restores volume and draws in water, so the skin above looks smoother.
Fillers come in different firmness levels. A firm gel lifts a cheek or defines a chin; a soft one moves with your lips when you talk. Matching the gel to the area is most of the skill.
What Dermal Fillers Treat
Typical amounts below are planning ranges confirmed at your consultation, not fixed requirements.
Lips
Shape and definition more than size. A soft, flexible filler restores the border and cupid’s bow and adds volume in proportion to your face. Most first visits: a half to one syringe. Typically lasts 6–12 months.
Cheeks & Mid-Face
The cheek is often the first place the face loses its cushion. A firmer filler over the cheekbone restores lift and often softens the fold below it. Typically 1–2 syringes for both cheeks. Lasts 12–18 months.
Chin & Jawline
For people who want more chin projection or a more defined jawline, filler placed along the bone adds shape and a cleaner line from ear to chin. Typically 1–2 syringes for the chin; the jawline is planned per side. Up to 12 months in the product studies; some people hold it longer.
Under-Eye Hollows
A soft, low-swelling filler placed deep along the hollow reduces the shadow under the eye. Placed with a cautious hand, in small amounts per side. Lasts 12–18 months.
Smile Lines & Marionette Lines
The folds from nose to mouth and mouth to chin deepen as the cheek above them drops. Filler softens the fold directly or supports the cheek so the fold forms less. Typically 1–2 syringes. Lasts 6–18 months.
Temples & Facial Balancing
Hollow temples can narrow the upper face. Filling them, sometimes with the chin and jaw, brings the face into proportion without changing any single feature. Planned at the consultation.

A 30-minute consultation maps your face and gives you a written plan in syringes and dollars before anything is booked.

The Fillers We Use, and Why
Restylane family (Galderma)
Hyaluronic acid, in firm and flexible versions. Lift for cheeks and chin; flexible gels for lips and smile lines; a dedicated under-eye gel.
Belotero Balance (+) (Merz)
Hyaluronic acid, soft and cohesive. Fine lines and thin-skinned areas such as under the eyes, where a gel must blend without showing.
Revanesse Versa / Lips+ (Prollenium)
Hyaluronic acid, smooth. Smile lines and lips.
RHA® Collection (Teoxane)
Hyaluronic acid, resilient. Gels made to move with the face, for fine lines around the mouth, smile lines, lips, and cheeks.
Sculptra (Galderma)
Poly-L-lactic acid. Builds collagen gradually over two to three sessions a month apart, with results that can last up to two years. Used for the cheeks.
Radiesse (+) (Merz)
Calcium hydroxylapatite. Immediate volume plus gradual collagen, studied to about a year. Jawline, chin, hands, and, diluted, the décolleté.
Collagen stimulators work on a different timeline
Every filler at Bogat is FDA-approved and bought from the manufacturer’s US supply. Radiesse and Sculptra are not hyaluronic acid and cannot be dissolved, so at Bogat they usually follow a treatment plan rather than start it. Sculptra also has its own aftercare, including a short daily massage.
Is Dermal Filler Right for You?
Filler suits concerns caused by lost volume or a hollow: a flat cheek, a thin or undefined lip, a receding chin, a deepening fold, a shadow under the eye. If adding shape in one specific place would help, filler is a reasonable option.
It is a poor fit for some concerns that look similar. Loose skin along the jaw and neck, under-eye puffiness caused by fat or fluid, and deep lines caused mainly by muscle movement respond better to other treatments; adding volume can make them more noticeable. Your consultation tells you which you have. A smaller plan, a different treatment, or no treatment yet are all normal answers.
Fillers are not used during pregnancy or breastfeeding, over an active skin infection or cold sore, or after a history of severe allergic reactions.
Three stages, from the first conversation to the two-week review.
The Consultation
You describe what bothers you. Your injector looks at how your face moves, where it has lost volume, and what one change would do to the whole. You leave with a plan in syringes, a written price, and pre-care instructions: pause aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and high-dose vitamin E for about a week if your prescriber agrees; no alcohol for 24 hours; reschedule if you have a cold sore or dental work within two weeks.
In the Treatment Room
Numbing cream goes on first, and the hyaluronic acid gels we use contain lidocaine, so the area gets more comfortable as treatment goes on. Pro-Nox is available as well — a 50/50 mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen that patients self-administer through a mouthpiece as needed during the procedure. Your injector uses a fine needle or a blunt cannula, depending on the area, placing small amounts and checking symmetry as she goes. Most visits take 45–60 minutes.
The Two Weeks After
You see the shape immediately. Swelling peaks in the first 24–48 hours and settles over about two weeks; lips swell the most. For hyaluronic acid fillers, avoid pressure on the area, hard exercise, saunas, and alcohol for 24–48 hours. Sculptra has its own instructions. At the two-week review we judge the settled result together.

Results and How Long They Last
With hyaluronic acid fillers, you see the shape the same day and the settled result at two weeks. The gel then fades gradually, so most people book a maintenance visit when they notice the change coming back.
Lips and other mobile areas usually hold filler 6–12 months; cheeks and under-eye 12–18 months; chin up to 12 months in the product studies. Radiesse is studied to about a year and Sculptra up to two.
Safety, Side Effects, and Dissolving Filler
Dermal fillers are prescription medical devices and are treated that way at Bogat. Common side effects are bruising, swelling, tenderness, and redness, which clear within days to two weeks. Small lumps that soften over the first weeks are also common.
The serious risk is filler entering a blood vessel. It is rare, on the order of one event in several thousand syringes in experienced hands, and it is why your injector places small amounts slowly, uses a cannula where the anatomy calls for it, and keeps hyaluronidase, the enzyme that dissolves hyaluronic acid, in every treatment room. You will leave with an aftercare card that lists the warning signs: increasing pain, or skin that turns white, gray, blue, or mottled, means contact us right away for an urgent assessment; any change in vision or stroke-like symptoms means call 911 first, then us.
Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if a result needs adjusting, whether it was placed here or elsewhere. It is a short visit, sometimes repeated, with a two-week reassessment before anything new is planned. It does not always return the area exactly to how it looked before. Radiesse and Sculptra cannot be dissolved.
Filler can also drift from where it was placed. Conservative amounts, the right gel for the area, and not layering new product on old reduce that risk.
Fillers in a Sun-and-Heat Climate
Year-round UV. Sun thins collagen, so volume loss shows earlier here; daily SPF protects the skin around your result.
Heat and humidity. No saunas, hot yoga, or beach heat for 48 hours after a hyaluronic acid filler treatment; heat increases swelling and bruising.
Event season. Book at least two weeks ahead so swelling has settled before photos.
Treatments That Pair Well With Dermal Fillers
Botox & Wrinkle Relaxers
Filler restores volume; Botox softens lines that movement creates. Both can be done in one visit.
Biologique Recherche Facial
A skin-quality treatment two weeks after filler, so the surface matches the structure beneath.
HydraFacial
Hydration and clarity between filler visits; book it before, or two weeks after, an injection.
